Disaster Management

Disaster Management is central to the mission of the IFRC and the European National Red Cross Societies. They provide disaster preparedness, response and recovery services which aim to reduce disaster risk, alleviate immediate suffering, improve recovery by re-establishing livelihood and increase community resilience and capacity.

International Development

The Red Cross/EU Office works to build understanding and support for Red Cross activities at EU level for the prevention and reduction of the underlying causes of vulnerability. Recognizing the EU as the world's largest development donor, the Red Cross/EU Office advocates for the needs of the most vulnerable in EU decision making and development activities.

National and EU activities

The Red Cross/EU Office assists National Red Cross Societies in the EU in better integrating the EU dimension in their national work and facilitates enhanced visibility for National Societies at the EU level. This is done through advocacy, promotion of common positions and examples of best practice to inform the EU of the work of EUNS and core humanitarian values.
