Gender-based violence in humanitarian intervention
The final report of DG ECHOs gender review, including annexes is the first step towards the development of a DG ECHO policy on gender.
This report, which was foreseen in the Action Plan for the implementation of the European Consensus on Humanitarian Aid aims to provide an understanding of past and current policies and programme approaches for integrating gender into humanitarian interventions, including actions to prevent and respond to the incidence of sexual and gender based violence. As such, it aims to identify lessons learned and good practice from desk-based policy reviews, interviews with a range of actors, and field visits.

At a later stage, there will be a consultation process on the draft ECHO gender policy involving ECHO Partners. The Red Cross/EU Office will inform you of this consultation process in due time.
