Haiti report from visit of European Parliament Development Committee ad hoc delegation - 25-27 June

On 25-27 June 2010, an ad hoc delegation from the Development Committee of the European Parliament visited Haiti. The ad hoc delegation was led by the Standing Rapporteur on Humanitarian Aid, Michele Striffler. The purpose of the visit to Haiti was to get an impression of the status of the emergency response and reconstruction process 6 months after the earthquake. During their stay, the ad hoc delegation also visited installations made by the Red Cross (emergency shelters, WatSan) in the Bonnefil site, and met with the IFRC delegation. The draft report was presented by ms Striffler at the meeting of the European Parliament Development Committee on 13 July 2010.
