Introduction
The Disaster Management unit of the RC/EU Office follows common approaches and provides information about EU policy developments, the European institutions'
activities and programs, reports on Red Cross and EU meetings, European
Red Cross activities and other relevant readings on humanitarian aid and civil protection.
The aim of the unit is to:
- Establish close dialogue between EUNS, Federation and EU institutions in emergencies and non-emergencies situations;
- Ensure prompt exchange of information on assessment of disasters and possible responses from EUNS and Federation;
- Secure a better coordination within the Red Cross family in the submission of proposals to the EC;
- Seek recognition for Red Cross/ Red Crescent action in relation to emergency response and civil protection.
