Our heart and our future: volunteers at the RC

There are around 97 million members and volunteers in the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement worldwide, of whom an estimated 20 million people are volunteers.

The dedication of volunteers not only reduces the cost of activities and enables National Societies to reach many more people for its money, but the spirit of volunteering is at the heart of our humanitarian imperative.
