World Disasters Report: The 2011 WDR focuses on Food Security. Published annually since 1993, the World Disasters Report brings together the latest trends, facts and analysis of contemporary crises - whether 'natural' or human-made, quick-onset or chronic.
Red Cross Red Crescent Magazine (published jointly with the ICRC): this quarterly magazine tackles issues of concern in the humanitarian sphere and features the activities of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies as they seek to help vulnerable people in their different environments
The Value of Volunteers: At the end of 2010, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies invited all National Societies to participate in a survey commissioned to capture the economic and social value of Red Cross Red Crescent volunteers worldwide.The results of that survey incorporate data from 101 National Societies.
Hunger, disaster, hope: rethinking humanitarian action in Africa: Humanitarian assistance in Africa is too reactive and costly and is failing to match the growing needs of vulnerable communities across the continent. The report urges humanitarian organizations and governments to review how humanitarian assistance is delivered and funded, calling the current model "over reliant on reactive disaster response”.
First aid for a safer future: This updated edition emphasize the necessity to better prepare communities for the "unexpected” by making first aid available to all.
Annual reports of the International Federation: Annual reports review the International Federation's work worldwide during the year. They highlight key operations and development activities, and includes the year's financial statements.
Strategy 2020: Adopted by the Federation's General Assembly in November 2009, Strategy 2020 was the result of extensive consultation within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and with our external partners. Guided by the statutes and strategy of the Movement, it consolidates previous policies and strategies and provides the basis for doing more, doing better and reaching further.
Code of Conduct for The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in Disaster Relief: this Code of Conduct was developed and agreed upon by eight of the world's largest disaster response agencies in the summer of 1994 and represents a huge leap forward in setting standards for disaster response. It is being used by the International Federation to monitor its own standards of relief delivery and to encourage other agencies to set similar standards.
