Red Cross EU Office: Disaster Management
The aim of the Disaster Management unit is to:
- Establish a close dialogue between EU National Societies (EUNS), the International Federation and EU institutions in emergency and non-emergency situations
- Ensure prompt exchange of information on assessment of disasters and possible responses from EUNS and the Federation
- Secure better coordination within the Red Cross family in the submission of proposals to the EC
- Seek recognition for Red Cross/ Red Crescent action in relation to civil protection and emergency response
The RC/EU Office follows guidelines to facilitate a coherent coordination and collaboration between EUNS and Federation in regards to applying for ECHO contracts.
