Intra-community policy areas followed at EU level by the Red Cross/EU Office on behalf of National Societies are: health and social care, asylum and migration, non-discrimination and promotion of humanitarian values, youth and volunteering and first aid and road safety.
 
The following position papers reflect the views of EU National Red Cross Societies and the International Federation on a given subject of work of the EU institutions relevant to Red Cross activities within the European Union and EEA. Position papers are a key element to support the Red Cross/EU Office in order to:
  • seek recognition of the specific mandate of the Red cross and the Red Crescent
  • pool ideas and expertise into a strong voice on EU issues
  • strengthen internal collaboration
